Our Mowing Services Explained

When you agree to join our regular lawn mowing service, you are employing a professional service. It is a service delivered to clients based upon experience, expertise and reflects our level of investment.

We offer one lawn mowing service and refer to it as ‘Weekly as Needed’.

Why a weekly mow? Well, for several reasons. First and most importantly it’s for the health of your lawn. A lawn consists of millions of tiny plants and like any plant in your yard it requires the right care to stay healthy. When the lawn is growing, regular trimming removing no more than one third of the growth required. If lawn gets too long, for example if left for two weeks in the growing season, you risk cutting into sensitive stem tissues which over time is detrimental to its overall health. This can lead to future problems and poor drought resistance. Of course, when you lawn’s growth is slower, less frequent cutting is required. During these periods, the frequency at which we cut your lawn will be reduced accordingly.

There are also business and operational reasons for our service type. We are lucky enough to have many wonderful clients around the Ladysmith and Nanaimo area and we need to ensure our schedule is efficient and reliable for all of them. How is it efficient? Well by having all clients on similar schedules it reduces the likelihood of disruption and means we remain reliable. If a weekly client has to be missed one week due to bad weather for example then the lawn should be under control enough that the following week we can cut with minimal issues. If a lawn is cut bi-weekly and had to be missed then a three week cut during the growing season is bad for the lawn and will significantly impact business costs due to the extra labour and machine running costs. In this case the business cannot remain profitable and reliable.

We do not offer an on-demand or as clients require lawn mowing service.

Of course, not everyone will value or require this level of service and in this case we are probably not the contractor for you.
